Aromatherapy Facial Massage
A full thirty minutes is devoted to massaging the face, scalp, and neck with the highest quality essential oils. The muscles and skin are rejuvenated and toned through the stimulation of blood and oxygen using acupressure, gentle tapping and contouring strokes as well as manual lymph drainage. Warm towels are applied to soothe tension lines and remove excess oils, leaving your skin softened and refreshed. Nourish your skin with aromatherapeutic oils as you experience the ultimate relaxation massage. Don't be suprised if you find yourself drifting off into sweet dreams. You can schedule an Aromatherapy Facial Massage as a stand alone service or extend your massage session to include this heavenly, soothing treatment at the beginning or conclusion of your session.
A holistic, individualized massage using a variety of massage techniques and modalities within a full body treatment session. Additional focus is placed on areas with reduced range of motion, tenderness and tension.
A Swedish based massage with long, flowing, broad strokes, gentle kneading, soft vibration, and cross-fiber friction techniques to the superficial tissues. A relaxation massage can increase blood flow and circulation, help you unwind, and allow muscles to repair after a sports event or trauma.
Deep Tissue Massage
After warming up superficial tissues, emphasis is placed on releasing adhesions within the deeper muscle fibers. Deep tissue does not need to be painful. Your level of comfort will always be respected. Stripping and cross-fiber techniques are emphasized.
Regular pre-natal massage during pregnancy can help regulate hormone balance, reduce swelling, decrease nerve pain like sciatica, reduce anxiety, decrease symptoms of depression, relieve muscle aches and joint pains, and improve labor outcomes and newborn health.
Based on James Waslaski's 12 step protocol, the goal of Orthopedic Massage is to reduce or eliminate pain and dysfunction by restoring structural balance throughout the body. Clients can then focus on the prevention and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal dysfunctions, chronic pain and sports injuries with stretches and exercises at home. Techniques include functional assessment, myofascial release, cross fiber gliding strokes, neuromuscular therapy, and more, including specific home care protocols.
Myoskeletal Alignment Therapy
Prevent chronic pain from occurring and reoccurring by creating symmetry and balance in the whole body with a myoskeletal alignment approach. Based on Erik Dalton's Myoskeletal Method, the goal is to prevent and treat common strain patterns caused by muscle imbalances that can result from tension, trauma, and poor posture. A combination of myofascial release, muscle energy work, active and passive stretching, tapoement, movement enhancers and, neuromuscular assessment techniques are used.
Lymphatic Drainage Massage
Lymphatic massage is the gentlest type of massage. Vodder manual lymph drainage uses a very light two directional stretch to the skin and underlying lymph vessels which stimulates the flow and drainage of lymphatic fluid. Baby powder may be used to help maintain contact with the superficial layer of skin without stimulating the muscles. Manual lymph drainage can be included into another massage modality for localized swelling. Other indications for Manual Lymph Drainage include presurgery, post-surgery, before and after cosemetic procedures, pregnancy, diabetes, swelling resulting from long flights, asthma, arthritis, sinus congestion, and many more. At this time, compression wrapping and techniques requiring moving lymph around missing lymph nodes are not offered.
Nuad Boran is the traditional nothern Thai massage. Clients are clothed in comfortable yoga attire. Thai massage is performed on a floor mat. Gentle rocking, accupressure, compression, passive stretching and joint movements highlight this ancient bodywork.
Hot Stone Massage
Hot Stone Massage is a full body relaxation treatment. Heated basalt stones rest and glide over the chest, hands, arms, legs, toes, neck and back. The enveloping warmth of this detoxifying treatment helps promote relaxation, improves circulation and lymphatic flow. Session may run longer than an hour and up to 75 minutes to complete.
Based on the work of Janet Travell and Paul St. John’s Neuro-Muscular Therapy, focus is placed on the postural alignment and treatment of trigger points. Trigger points are hyper-irritable tender points in the muscle belly that may refer pain to another area in the body.
